Vacuum Bagging Process

Mould and Release: The process begins with a mould treated with a PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) tool release agent to prevent the composite from sticking. Composite Material Stack: Layers of composite material are placed on the mould, followed by a release film and a peel ply/release fabric. Breather/Infusion Medium: A breather fabric or infusion mesh is added to allow air and excess volatiles to escape evenly across the entire surface during the vacuum process. Sealing: The entire stack is sealed with a vacuum bagging film and sealant tape to create an airtight environment, allowing a vacuum pump to draw out air and apply pressure.
